46 days
Ash Wednesday is tomorrow, which means most of my social media sites will be filled with statuses such as, “See ya on Easter, facebook,” or “Later, twitterverse.”
I have never participated in the institutional Lent, mostly because I can never decide those things relevant enough to give up. But this year, I have decided I’m going to obey my penitential duties by giving up one of my favorite delicacies in this world—bread.
That’s right, I’m giving up bread for the next 40 days. While I know this will probably result in detrimental behavior (i.e. extreme bitterness), I’m going to give it a shot.
In the mean time, tonight will be spent enjoying mass quantities of these precious carbs one last time.
What are you giving up for Lent? Tell me your answers here.
(regretfully) Happy Tuesday!
Edit: I failed miserably, not even a week after vowing to give up bread. However, I’m going to give myself some slack, considering the circumstances, and redeem myself over the next few weeks. I’ll keep updates on how I’m doing. Oh, who am I kidding??
